Pittsburgh Police Commander accused of recording fellow officers

Allegheny County Police today has announced charges against a retired Pittsburgh police commander, accused of illegally recording fellow officers.

Former Zone 2 commander Matthew Lackner is accused of recording police officers who were inside unmarked police vehicles without their knowledge. Investigators looks at 14 different recordings.


Investigators also said Lackner concealed his own body worn camera in order to illegally record interactions with officers.

Lackner is charged with four felony counts of interception, disclosure or use of wire, and electronic or oral communications.
