First round play in the NCAA men's basketball tournament starts tomorrow in Pittsburgh.
Hosting the games and also the women's division three tournament is giving the city's economy a big boost.
Jennifer Hawkins of SportsPittsburgh estimates that college basketball is going to be worth about $10.5 million in local tourism revenue.
Pittsburgh is hosting the NCAA men's basketball tournament Friday and Sunday, as well the NCAA D3 women's basketball Final 4 and championship game Thursday and Saturday.
Hawkins says those restaurant and hotel dollars are needed.
"It really is a different experience in 2022. We know how hard our hospitality industry and our hospitality partners have been hit by the pandemic. We know the staffing shortages and supply chain demands that come through. We're so pleased to be able to have this."
Fanbases from 11 different states will be represented in Pittsburgh this week.
