PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority has filed a proposed rate hike settlement with the state Public Utility Commission.
Earlier this year the PWSA filed for a 19 percent increase in residential bills for 2021. After negotiations with advocates and stakeholders the proposed increase is 5.7 percent with a five percent distribution improvement charge.
The average residential monthly bill would increase by $6.85. The authority says customers in the Bill Discount Program could see their bills fall.
The PUC must still approve.
