
State Police in Westmoreland County are asking for help identifying a man accused of robbing a bank Friday morning.
Troopers say the man entered the First National Bank on Wendel Road in Hempfield Township just before 11:30 a.m. and presented a worker a threatening note and showed he had a handgun in his waistband.
He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot toward Route 30.
“The suspect is described as a black male and was wearing a face and head covering, a dark-colored, hooded shirt or jacket, blue jeans, and white sneakers. He was also wearing a dark-colored backpack,” a release from Troopers said.
