Primanti Bros. is promoting its new-and-improved wings by admitting its old wings weren’t very good and launching a creative new campaign.

The “Almost-Famous” Pittsburgh-based restaurant has posted ads around the city featuring a fake ad from a lawyer, asking any dissatisfied customers to call a hot line.

The fictitious “Alliance for Bigger, Fresher Wings”, “seemingly created by a pack of unhappy customers and possibly a sleazy lawyer,” Primanti Bros. says in a release wants anyone that has had a bad experience with their old wings to call the very real number 1-866-SAD-WINGS and leave a voicemail or rant.

“Listen, it was no surprise to us that our wings weren’t very good,” said Toni Haggerty, long-time manager of the original Primanti Bros. location in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District. “We just hoped no one else noticed.”

Primanti Bros. has already improved its wings and are now available at all locations.

“We’ve been hard at work to source new, fresh – never frozen – wings that are meatier, juicier and just plain better,” said Haggerty. “I don’t know who this guy is on the billboard, but it would be great if he’d back it down and get into the restaurant to try the new wings.”
