
Pittsburgh Public Safety is making final preparations for Light Up Night on Saturday
Bundle up! Temperatures will drop into the 20s Saturday night.
[It will be all hands on deck within Pittsburgh Public safety as they expect large crowds downtown for the city's official kickoff to the holiday season.
Pittsburgh Police will be assigned to 12-hour shifts, and work closely with other law enforcement agencies.
Emergency Management Coordinator Darryl Jones says they are fully ready to handle the evening effectively.
“We’re making sure there’s proper lighting, enough police officer and other emergency service, personnel in case there are any incidents or any accidents,” said Jones
He suggests people make a parking plan ahead of time or consider public transportation to avoid heavy traffic.
