The Public Utility Commission says it's been slammed the past day or so with calls from people who are the victims of the latest scam.
The PUC says it's received 70 calls on Thursday alone.
They're from people who are getting calls claiming to be from the PUC saying they're processing their switch to a different energy supplier, and they have to pay a hefty cancellation fee or they'll lose their service.
The Commission says they will never call and demand money by phone and when utilities do it, It's after a series of written and electronic notices.
The PUC says you should consider blocking or screening unknown numbers and call the PUC and the Federal Trade Commission to file a complaint.
