Pittsburgh will remember the 11 lives lost in the mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue three years ago today.

The 10/27 Healing Partnership will host a commemoration ceremony in Schenley Park at 4:30 p.m.

Director Maggie Finestein says the organization works to honor the victims every day.

"Through trying to carry forward some of these essence of their community-mindedness, their family values, their Jewish values, so we try to carry that forward in their honor but today specifically we also hold space for remembering," said Finestein.

Later in the evening, the Partnership will host a virtual screening and discussion of the ceremony.

The events are part of multiple days of remembrance in Pittsburgh's Jewish community, which has included more private ceremonies and public outreach.

The names of those who lost their lives three years ago in the shooting were part of the Tree of Life/Or L'Simcha, New Light and Dor Hadash.
