8:00 p.m. UPDATE: Allegheny County police gave the name of the officer killed as Sean Sluganski and the injured officer as Chuck Thomas.
5:30 p.m. UPDATE: A precession was held for the fallen officer as the body was transported in an ambulance followed by a long line of law enforcement vehicles
3:50 p.m. UPDATE: The second police officer is currently in stable condition. Authorities say the suspect is also in stable condition.
One McKeesport Police Officer is dead and another wounded after a shooting in the community Monday afternoon.
It reportedly happened during a domestic incident on Wilson Street between a mother and her son.
During a news conference Monday afternoon, Allegheny County Police said the suspect was wounded after encountering a third officer and gunfire broke out.
The names of the officers have not been released publicly at this time.
KDKA Radio's Marty Griffin reports the son, who is ex-military, began shooting and hit two police officers.
Griffin adds the suspect was "mentally disturbed."
The McKeesport Area School District says they are on an exterior lockdown due to the police active.
