PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) State representative Natalie Mahawlek today announced legislation that would elevate concealing the death of a child from a 2nd degree misdemeanor, to a 2nd degree felony.
When news broke that the parents of baby Archer Hollis were accused of hiding their child in a wall inside their Charleroi home last November, state representative Mihawlek was among those who were outraged.
Now Mihawlek has introduced legislation to make it a 2nd degree felony for concealing the death of a child, one step below a homicide charge.
Washington County district attorney Jason Walsh also attended the news conference.
The bill already has 31 co-sponsors in the state House.
