A restaurant in Southwestern PA was hit with four total violations after a reported complaint led to an inspection.
The PA Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety Bureau says Luanne’s Route 68 restaurant on Midland-Beaver Road in Industry, PA is “out of compliance”.
According to the inspection, several items were being held at unsafe temperatures.
The items include shredded lettuce and tomatoes at 65 degrees, shredded cheese at 55 degrees and taco meat at 52 degrees. All of the items were on a prep table and above the safe temperature of 41 degrees or lower.
All of the items were thrown away and cold-holding practices were reviewed with the staff. Inspectors say that is a repeat violation from an inspection last June.
Inspectors also found some dirty food contact surfaces, including utensils, a container, can opener and more. That is a repeat violation from last June as well.
In addition, a handwashing sink in a bar area was found to be blocked by cardboard with empty cans on top of it and not accessible to employees to us. The cardboard was removed.
A follow up inspection will occur within 10 days. To see the full inspection and any updates to the restaurant’s status, visit here.
