KDKA Radio afternoon host Rick Dayton was #FreezinForAReason.

On Friday, Dayton was joined in the radio station parking lot by Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert for the "Polar Pop Challenge" to benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania.

Similar to the Ice Bucket Challenge of a few years ago, the PA Polar Pop asks participants to have someone pop a balloon filled with ice cold water over their head.

After being challenged to take part in the challenge, Rick sought help from Chief Schubert to figure out exactly the best way to go about the challenge.

Chief Schubert participated in the challenge earlier in the week and he told Rick that after the initial pop, River Rescue really showered him with water from the river.

Chief Schubert told Rick he needed to go further than just a balloon. He suggested Rick add a bucket of cold water and a snow angel in addition to the balloon.

The Polar Pop Challenge is intended to help raise money for Special Olympics Pennsylvania.
