With snow expected in the area Thursday and Friday, road crews are getting ready to deploy their salt trucks.
Allegheny County Director of Public Stephen Shanley is reminding motorists how they can stay safe on the roadways:
“I guess this is typically the first snowstorm. People need to get used to it. We encourage them to slow down, leave space between them and the vehicles in front of them and to give our salt trucks plenty of room to operate. Also, [for them] to be mindful bridges and overpasses freeze long before the road surfaces.”
Shanley telling NewsRadio KDKA that he's comfortable with the number of truck drivers they have right now, but they are still looking for drivers who are available to work .
