Police in North Braddock made an arrest Wednesday morning after a driver blew through a stop sign while kids waiting for a bus nearby.
Eastern Regional Mon Valley Police say officers were near a school bus stop at Bell and Jones Avenue when a car went through a stop sign and “posed a significant risk to the safety of small children in the area, who were waiting for buses and crossing streets.”
While pulled over, the driver admitted to police he had drugs in the car.
Police found marijuana and crack cocaine since the car. He now faces drug charges in addition to the traffic violation.
“We urge all motorists to exercise extreme caution and obey traffic laws, especially in areas where children are present,” police said in a release. “The safety of our community's youth is our top priority, and we will continue to work diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment for all.”
