The TSA is clarifying how security checkpoints at Pittsburgh International will operate this summer.
Earlier this week the agency announced TSA PreCheck travelers would use the main security checkpoint and other passengers would be sent to the alternate checkpoint during peak travel times.
A TSA spokesperson said Thursday non-PreCheck passengers will be free to use either checkpoint.
“Travel volume has increased tremendously during the past year and TSA and airport officials have explored various checkpoint configurations in an effort to improve checkpoint efficiency and streamline passenger flow into the checkpoint, especially during the early morning peak travel period,” TSA said in a statement.
The changes go into effect on Monday, May 5.
