A convicted sex offender and his girlfriend were arrested Tuesday on gun charges.
The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office say 38-year-old Anthony Johnson of McKeesport and 41-year-old Leal Jackson were involved in an incident at a doctor’s office last year.
Police say a gun went off inside a doctor’s office near Mercy Hospital. Johnson told people that he had a gun that belonged to Jackson in his waistband when he saw that his leg was bleeding from a gunshot.
The Sheriff’s office got involved, trying to locate Johnson after a bench warrant was issued last week for a probation violation related to a 2012 sex assault charge of a minor.
Deputies went to the address on the sex offender registry but learned Johnson had not been at that address for a while.
They were able to track Johnson to the address of Jackson, in Stowe Township.
Both Johnson and Jackson face gun charges and Johnson faces a new felony charge of failure to register as a sex offender.
