Slick roads possible as cold air moves through with snow

The relatively warmer temperatures end with a cold front making its way through the Pittsburgh area Wednesday night into Thursday.

Meteorologist Colton Milcarek, with the National Weather Service, tells KDKA Radio a cold front will come through with rain changing to snow around 8 p.m.

“As we get into the overnight period, at least midnight through 4 a.m. we’re going to have the snow sort of continuing . . . that may create a few slick sports combined with the below freezing temperatures at we head into the morning,” said Milcarek.

Around an inch is expected for the Pittsburgh area, give or take a half-an-inch.

The colder temperatures could create slick roads and could prompt some delays.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the eastern parts of eastern Westmoreland and Fayette Counties and north of Butler County.

The cold will then stick with us for awhile with temperatures in the low teens expected early next week.
