City leaders listened last night to South Side residents sharing their concerns about crime.
Hundreds came out to be heard, offering suggestions, like boosting patrols, using mounted police, shutting down nuisance bars and reducing crowds in the streets.
Some asked police to focus more on side streets, not just traffic on East Carson St. Most agreed violent crime is everyone's problem.
Mayor Ed Gainey promised to return to walk the streets again in a couple weeks.
