Students at Sto-Rox Junior and Senior High School are learning remotely for the rest of the week.
A school board member's post on social media says the decision was made to ensure the safety of students after an 18-year-old was shot in the head on Monday and died Tuesday.
Cameron Culliver also says he wants to give Sto-Rox students the opportunity to comprehend an incident regarding a classmate.
"We want to give an opportunity for our students to comprehend the incident regarding their classmate," Culliver said in a post. "In doing so, please take advantage of the many resources provided to the district."
In-person classes will resume Monday.
