Rob Kania is my ten year old old son Vincent's godfather.

He's one of my closest friends. He's family to me.

COVID-19 could very well kill him. He's hospitalized right now...in and out of ICU. It's been this way for more than a month.

The first text he sent me on his way to hospital read "Can't breath."

A week into his COVID-19 treatment he texted "a few times a day I start to gasp...cough..stomach convulsions...hyperventilating..Oxygen levels drop and hear rate skyrockets."

This is the COVID-19 narrative.

Rob is 49. He was next up for the vaccine when he got sick.

Rob has four kids. All of them are active. All of his kids and his wife also had COVID-19.

They're all better. Rob isn't.

Looks like one of Robs kids brought it home from school...a whole bunch of kids on an athletic team got COVID-19. Rob's son was one of them.

What am I getting at?

Here's the discussion. "My kids got COVID-19. They didn't have any symptoms." "My kids got COVID-19. They had sniffles." "We don't need vaccinated."

Here's where the conversation should go. "Rob got COVID-19 from one of his kids. His kids are fine. Rob nearly died. Rob has permanent lung damage. Rob has been hospitalized for weeks."

Stop the "kids don't get sick from COVID-19" discussion.

Please get everyone in you family vaccinated.

How hard is it?

This isn't the flu. It's just not.

Rob would tell you that...if he could talk.
