The damaging winds that came through Pittsburgh on Tuesday were even stronger than first thought.

The National Weather Service out of Pittsburgh says damage in “Schenley Park thru Regent Square to Wilkinsburg/Churchill/Edgewood and generally north of the Parkway /I376” was consistent with winds between 90 to 95 miles per hour.

Places like Regent Square were some of the heaviest hit areas in Western PA during the strong storms.

The NWS says the damage done was from straight-line winds and not a tornado, though the two can be confused for one another.
