A letter sent to families in the district from Woodland Hills officials says a “student threatened to bring a gun to the high school,” Wednesday morning.

They learned about the threat during an Instagram live video.

Churchill police were notified of the threat and have been in communication with the school.

“The student who hosted the broadcast on Instagram Live and the student who allegedly gave the threat were not in school today,” the district said in a letter to parents.

Rumors of weapons on school ground were found to be untrue, with classes resuming as normal, but all after school activities have been canceled for the evening.

The district says the threats are being investigated and those responsible will face discipline.

Over 30 students got into multiple fights last Wednesday and later that night the district was alerted about possible retaliation the next day.

Officials decided to move Thursday and Friday’s classes online due to the threats.

30 students were identified using surveillance camera and “face various levels of punishment.”
