Suspected arsonist in Natrona Heights fire arrested

The county police have made an arrest in the case of suspected arson in Natrona Heights.

A fire in the 200 block of Spruce Street in Harrison Township Sunday night was ruled arson by the Allegheny County fire Marshall.

County detectives learned 35-year-old Eric Knabenshue of Natrona Heights was with the homeowner and her 13-year-old child prior to the fire.

The victim told police Knabenshue was in the basement.

Knabenshue also sent threatening texts to a neighbor after the fire.

Knabenshue has been charged with arson, endangering the welfare of a child, terroristic threats and simple assault.

He is being held in the Allegheny County jail pending his preliminary hearing.
