PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning, SWAT was called to Bloomfield for reports of shots fired and a man in crisis.
A shotspotter alerted Pittsburgh Police to the 4500 block of Torley Street after multiple rounds were fired.
Officers arrives to find shell casings and made attempts to make verbal contact with the suspect.
When reaching the suspect failed, police learned from a friend and family that there were several firearms within the residence and the male was in crisis.
SWAT and negotiators were then called to the scene where negotiations went on for two hours before the suspect surrendered.
The male was evaluated by tactical medics and was then taken to receive the appropriate assistance.
