Police have arrested a teen for making threats against a school district.
Police say 18-year-old Spencer Baker made threats against the Homer-Center School District in a video on Snapchat.
The video reportedly shows the suspect arriving at the school, holding a shotgun.
Police say several students brought the video to the attention of the high school principal.
The school's superintendent Ralph J. Cecere Jr sent out a letter on the school's website detailing the incident for students and parents to understand the threat.
The letter said in part:
Our school's security team, in collaboration with the school administration conducted a threat assessment and reported the concern to the Pennsylvania State Police. As an abundance of caution, school security increased awareness of our campus and those entering the premises. We treated this matter with the utmost seriousness, and the safety of our students and staff was our top priority. While this situation was resolved successfully, it serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and open communication within our school community. We encourage students to report any suspicious or concerning messages or activities to a trusted adult or school staff member. We take all reports seriously and will continue to work diligently to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all.
The letter goes on to discuss ways for both school faculty, students, and parents to stay safe and vigilant in case a similar event happens.
