Fourteen years ago, Tuesday, three Pittsburgh Police officers were ambushed, killed in the line of duty responding to a domestic call in Stanton Heights.

It happened on a Saturday morning, April 4 2010 at a home on Fairfield Street.

Officers Paul Sciullo and Stephen Mayhle were shot at the front door and officer Eric Kelly was shot as he tried to help them.

Two other officers were wounded. A standoff with the gunman, Richard Poplawski, lasted several hours.

He's on death row.
