Three people have been arrested after a string of vehicle thefts on Sunday and Monday in Pittsburgh surrounding suburbs.

Pittsburgh Police say one vehicle was stolen in the Zone 6 area during a burglary. The suspects were believed to be armed.

Police say the same people are also suspected of several armed home invasions.

A stolen Toyota Sienna was found by detectives, unoccupied on Rentz Way at Grimes Avenue in Knoxville.

A short time later, three males were seen walking toward the Sienna.

The three took off but were all taken into custody after a foot pursuit. Two guns were recovered, including one that was reported stolen out of the City of Pittsburgh.

A 16 and a 17-year-old were arrested and charged with resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, carrying a firearm without a license and more.

The 17-year-old was released to his father and the 16-year-old was released to juvenile probation.

The third person arrested is identified as 19-year-old Jose Rivera-Montes. He faces multiple charges.

Rivera Montes was taken to Allegheny County Jail.
