
A retrial starts today for Christian Bey the man accused in the shooting death of an off-duty Pittsburgh Police during a street confrontation in 2019.
A mistrial was declared last week after a prosecution witness mentioned she knew Bey, that he moved into her neighborhood after being released from prison.
Jury selection for the retrial wrapped up on Friday.
Bey was on trial for homicide after allegedly killing Calvin Hall during a block party in Homewood.
Officer Hall was visiting family in Homewood when he reportedly broke up a confrontation across the street from where he was at.
As he walked away from the argument, he was shot three times in the back.
He was shot on July 14, 2019.
Officer Hall died three days later.
