
After it was confirmed that Vice President and Democratic nominee for president Kamala Harris will be in Pittsburgh Monday for a campaign event, former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump is confirmed to appear in Pittsburgh as well.
With two large political rallies planned for Downtown, the City of Pittsburgh has announced that non-essential employees will be dismissed early on Monday. That goes for city and county workers.
Also, "Due to anticipated large crowds and road closures, all Pittsburgh Public Schools will follow a half-day schedule on Monday, November 4th," PPS said in a release.
Mr. Trump is scheduled to appear at PPG Paints Arena on Monday, November 4 at 6 p.m.
Doors open up at 2 p.m. for rally-goers.
A Get Out The Vote Concert is planned at Point State Park with Vice President Harris on Monday afternoon.
A website says that the “exact arrival point and location map to follow” and that “more details coming soon" but a website says the event is planned from 3 to 7 p.m.
The City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County officials are encouraging people and businesses to avoid “unnecessary travel in and around downtown Monday afternoon to reduce traffic and parking congestion likely to be caused by the events.”
Pennsylvania, especially Western PA is critical for both parties.
Trump will also be visiting Reading, PA earlier in the day.
Harris will be in Philadelphia later Monday evening after her event in Pittsburgh.
