TSA Agent at Pittsburgh International accused of stealing money from passenger

A Pittsburgh-area TSA agent faces theft charges, accused of stealing money out of a wallet at a security checkpoint at Pittsburgh International Airport.

According to a police report, a passenger left their wallet in a security bin, with cash inside of it Wednesday afternoon.

Video footage shows a TSA agent taking what appears to be the wallet, removing the money, and then handing the wallet back to the passenger.

The travelers noticed money was missing a short time later and returned to tell agents he was missing some money.

That is when the security footage was reviewed and the suspect, identified as Richard Bruce, was seen removing an item from a bin.

Bruce was then questioned by TSA supervisors and asked to empty his pockets.

Bruce then took out $180 out of his pocket and was read his rights.

Bruce face charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, according to KDKA Radio’s Marty Griffin, has been fired by the TSA.
