Two people are in custody on multiple charges of aggravated assault of a child in Fayette County.

Pennsylvania State Police says Jacob Weight and Mimi Ann Frost of Brownsville Borough are accused of beating a six-year-old child.

Troopers were called to a scene on Sheridan Avenue in Brownsville for an unresponsive child.

They found the house in a "deplorable condition" with dog droppings and urine, along with trash throughout the residence.

After talking with children inside the home, troopers discovered the six-year-old was being held in a dog crate.

They were zip-tied and beaten with a broom on more than one occasion.

The 37-year-old Weight and 33-year-old Frost are accused of other criminal acts against the child.

They're charged with aggravated assault, corruption of minors, strangulation, simple assault, endangering the welfare of children and other charges.
