A new streamlined process is available to welcome as many as 100,000 Ukrainian refugees to the United States.
The program allows any legal resident of the United States to sponsor a Ukrainian citizen or family for a period of up to two years. Immigration attorney Ellen Freeman talked about it with NewsRadio KDKA's Marty Griffin.
"Our citizens don't even know that this program exists and that they can bring valuable employees to the United States and afford them safety while they're here."
The program was implemented last month. Details on how to apply can be found here.
To be eligible, candidate must have been a resident in Ukraine as of February 11th, have a supporter in the U.S., complete vaccinations and pass security checks.
