The State House Transportation Committee approved a bill Tuesday to better notify drivers about V-tolls.

V-tolls are $10 fees charged to drivers when their EZpass is not detected going through a toll plaza. In the current system, it takes some customers months or even years to realize they were charged.
State Rep Ryan Warner says this bill fixes that.
“It requires the turnpike to notify customers the first time they receive a v-toll, what it is, that their transponder may be mounted improperly, that their transponder may be old and needs to be replaced, and to let them know they received this toll.”
It's part of the effort to solve millions of dollars in uncollected tolls on the turnpike. The bill was unanimously approved and moves to the house.
