There's a new Pittsburgh vet hospital that is allowing owners to watch surgeries and stay the night if needed.
The new Veterinary Emergency Group has opened up on Penn Avenue in East Liberty and it's revolutionizing veterinary care.
The facility was designed with an open concept and VEG medical director Allison Faust told KDKA Radio owners can stay with their pets.
“Including, even if you want to stay overnight we do have couches that pull out into bed for people that want to stay with their hospitalized pets,” said Faust.
Faust added they have reduced wait times, compared to other emergency hospitals.
“Because we have the open hospital concept and we triage patients immediately into the treatment area, our wait times are greatly, greatly reduced,” said Faust.
Other VEG hospitals have already been doing this and people are taking advantage of it.
Officials say this kind of open concept is something you are going to see more of in the future when it comes to veterinary emergency medicine.
