PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) — Pittsburgh Public Safety has reported a three-car accident on West Carson Street.
According to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Twitter account, the incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The accident was caused by a male in his 30s who had stolen a car in Crafton.
The male was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition after hitting a dumpster truck head on and getting trapped in the car.
There was a fuel leak from the truck because of the collision, and hazmat units responded to the site.
No one beyond the male carjacker was injured.
The Collision Investigation Unit was called in to process the accident.
At the time of writing, West Carson Street was closed in both directions.
