What to do if you're sent the wrong mail-in ballot

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) — The Elections Division of Allegheny County has received numerous calls as of late concerning people receiving incorrect mail-in ballots.

The Division says that there have been about 20 calls so far from county voters stating that they got the wrong ballot in the mail.

While the Elections Division is already looking into the mishaps, it's also important to know what to do if you are sent the wrong ballot package.

For starters, voters can contact the Elections Divisions through email or a phone call at electionscontact@alleghenycounty.us or 412-350-4500.

With that, voters should provide their name, registered address, and the municipality, ward, and district for the incorrect ballot.

Voters are also encouraged to provide their actual municipality, ward, and district.

Voters should hold onto the declarations, instructions, and security envelopes.

Otherwise, the incorrect ballot should be destroyed.

The correct ballot will then be sent out.
