Homewood is looked at as a dangerous neighborhood with so many news stories that talk about the killings and drugs. When you look more closely, you'll see the beautiful murals on the buildings, gardens, new housing developments and you'll see change.
Yeah, the problems are still there but Operation Better Block (OBB) and city council work hard to make sure residents are equipped with all the necessary resources needed for safer streets.
OBB is a non profit organization that serves the Homewood community in many areas such as housing, employment, community outreach, healthcare and more.
Gina McMillan is the Director of Operations for OBB. She's also a Homewood native and Westinghouse graduate.
She knows her neighborhood and works diligently in making sure the residents are informed and engaged.
