It was a desperate move in the middle of the night. Jeff Deceder was getting concerned that the heat in his home was broken and no one was answering his calls for an electrician. The concern is for the safety of his little boy, Rycker, who has Down syndrome, and a heart condition.
In the video on this page you’ll see what the problem is, and find out how people immediately offered to help.
First there’s the electrician whose mother told him to help, and he’s doing it free of charge. Then there’s the temporary help from another great man, Andy Amrhein, who delivered two space heaters from his True Value Hardware store.

This what community is all about. This is what hope is all about. Jeff and his lovely family are so grateful and tell me they plan to keep looking for opportunities to pay it forward.
