AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Bill Deger tells KDKA Radio 1 to 3 inches of snow will fall around the Pittsburgh area as a clipper moves through.
“It looks like after midnight tonight and continues through tomorrow morning and yeah, one to three inches the forecast and could be some bad timing for the commute tomorrow morning with these snow showers moving through then,” said Deger.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 4 a.m. Friday through 10 a.m. Saturday. They say up to 4 inches could fall through that time.

PennDOT says that the HOV lanes will be closed for the Friday morning rush.
"The I-279/I-579 High Occupancy Vehicles (HOV) lanes will close at approximately 7 p.m. (Thursday) due to expected inclement weather. The HOV lanes will not reopen for rush hour tomorrow (Friday) morning and are expected to remain closed to traffic the remainder of the day," PennDOT said in a release.
PennDOT says the HOV lanes will be reopen in time for Saturday night's Steelers game at Acrisure Stadium.
After a small break, another front will come through the Pittsburgh area brining colder air and lake effect snow showers.
Up to an additional inch could fall Friday afternoon through evening.
“Bottom line is anytime from late (Thursday) through (Friday) evening, we can expect these snow showers and squalls to move through,” said Deger.
The weekend is expected to be relatively dry, but late Sunday night could bring more snow.
It’s still early, but another 1 to 3 inches of accumulation could fall in the area, affecting the Monday morning rush hour.
