The WPIAL has a new Executive Director.
Scott Seltzer was named the fifth full-time Executive Director of the WPIAL on Monday afternoon.
He is set to take over the position on July 1 of this year, after replacing Amy Scheuneman, who resigned in March to take a new position with P3R in Pittsburgh.
"The job that Amy Scheuneman did, getting us through the (COVID-19 pandemic) and through the past couple years was outstanding," said Seltzer.
"There's no way that I will be able to compare to what she has done for this district and for this league – she will be greatly missed. It's an honor and a privilege to be chosen as the next Executive Director.
Seltzer was the President of the WPIAL Board of Directors for six years and is a 13-time elected member of the WPIAL Board of Directors. He was also the Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership at Chartiers Valley School District.
"Scott's continual focus on the student-athletes will be beneficial to support the mission of the WPIAL," Scheuneman said.
