Former President Donald Trump said in a statement on Monday night that his Mar-a-Lago estate was "raided and occupied" by the FBI, as FOX News host Laura Ingraham expressed her anger with the raid and called it "the deep state's revenge."
"Well, the search warrant served on Mar-a-Lago this morning had Donald Trump's name on it," Ingraham said on her show. "But the real target of this investigation isn't Trump. The real target of this investigation is you or anyone who dares to call out and take on the rank corruption of the D.C. establishment. This is the deep state's revenge."
Ingraham continued by saying that the FBI raid on Trump's home is to show the power the government has and that anyone who fights back against them will be "destroyed."
"They're trying to show all of us that we'll be destroyed if we fight them. If we question the repeated failures of the Pentagon leadership," Ingraham added. If we make serious, I'm talking about serious moves to disrupt the status quo here in Washington. You know, the status quo that protects the powerful as long as they play the game.
"Now for decades. They got away with selling us out by letting in 20 million illegals flooding across our border. They sold us out by sending our manufacturing jobs to China."
Ingraham went on to say that if Trump "got back into power, they know he would hold all the right people accountable for what they've done."
"They sold us out by wasting trillions on stupid wars in the Middle East. And now they're selling us out by wasted billions, billions more in Ukraine," Ingraham said. "A year after 13 of our service members were murdered in Afghanistan due to our own general's incompetence.
"And think about this tonight. Still, no one has been fired. You think Trump would have ever put up with any put up with any of this? And if he got back into power, they know he would hold all the right people accountable for what they've done."
In Trump's statement about the raid, he called America a third-world country and said the U.S. is "corrupt at a level not seen before."
"Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries. Sadly, America has become one of those Countries, corrupt at a level not seen before," Trump said in the statement on Truth Social.
Matt Schlapp, chairman of The American Conservative Union and former White House Political Director to President George W. Bush, wrote an op-ed for FOX News after the raid and reiterated Trump by saying President Joe Biden has made the United States a third-world country.
"We are witnessing the disintegration of the Left’s coalition in America. But as it breaks it is lurching more aggressively. It’s time for each American to stand for each other and rid this nation of this socialist reign of terror," Schlapp wrote.
"President Biden’s politicized FBI just raided President Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago. This nation is becoming unrecognizable. Biden has successfully transformed America into a third-world country."
At the end of her show, Ingraham said that Republicans must "hold everyone accountable" for going after Trump.
"But when we get power back, it’s time to hold everyone accountable: the military leadership, the civilian leadership, the civil service, those in Congress who’ve abused their power," Ingraham said, according to Mediaite. All of them have to be held accountable. All of them. It can’t be this nice guy routine where we just, 'Oh, let’s be friends.'"
She also spoke with Russ Vought, former director of the Office of Management and Budget under Trump, who said that Congress should "dismantle the FBI into a thousand bits."
"This is a wake-up call for those in Congress to be able to use the tools at their disposal to defund the FBI, to ask the right questions, and to prepare for a Church-style commission next year if given a Republican majority to dismantle the FBI into a thousand bits," Vought said, per Mediaite.
