A mom in New York who was just trying to treat her daughter to a kid's meal wound up leaving the drive-thru horrified to find blood splattered all over their food.
Tiffany Floyd documented the ordeal in a TikTok video that has since gone viral, racking up over 6.5 million views.
Floyd said she took her 4-year-old daughter to a Burger King location near her home in Western New York on Friday and ordered a cheeseburger kid's meal for the tot.
"I gave her the bag because, obviously I'm a busy mom. I just gave her the bag to eat the food," Floyd explained. "And I heard 'Mom, I don't want ketchup.'"
Floyd took the bag away from her daughter, assuming the restaurant "messed up" her order, and was shocked at what she saw.
"I look in her bag and there is blood all over her bag, her toy, her fries -- everything," Floyd says as she highlights the blood on camera.
Floyd said she called the restaurant and the manager told her that "somebody did cut his hand and that if I came back he would give me a refund of my money."
She reported the incident to the local health department and her daughter's doctor, who recommended blood testing to determine if she contracted any diseases.
"I have to wait a whole month to get my daughter tested for any blood issues," she said.
Floyd told the New York Post that she reached out to Burger King's corporate office, which offered to pay for her daughter's medical expenses -- but she said that's "not enough."
"My daughter has not eaten since this and my anxiety is through the roof and what if my daughter needs professional help from this," she told The Post.
In a statement, Burger King said it was "deeply upset and concerned" about the incident.
"This incident was the result of a team member in the restaurant who injured his finger, and upon noticing immediately stepped away. We closed the restaurant to retrain all the team members and hired an external company to complete a deep cleaning," the company said in a statement to The Post. "We expect the restaurant to re-open Monday and are fully paying team members for any lost shifts during this temporary shut down."
