Netflix has announced a new change in their subscription service. The streaming giant is discontinuing its lowest-priced ad-free option, which was previously available for $11.99 a month.

The goal is to encourage more viewers to switch to its cheaper ad-supported plan.

A year ago, Netflix stopped offering a basic ad-free subscription to new customers.

Existing subscribers were allowed to keep their plans as long as they didn't cancel or change them.

Now, this option is being completely phased out, pushing all users towards either the ad-supported plan or higher-tier ad-free options.

Netflix continues to see growth in subscribers and earnings, in the latest quarter, the streaming service added 8 million new subscribers, marking a 37% increase compared to the same period last year.

Stay tuned for more updates on how these changes might affect your viewing experience and subscription choices.
