What in the heck is that giant orb in the sky? A startup is giving people the answer, with the ability to share their UFO sightings and get a clearer sense of what they're looking at in the sky above via a brand-new app.
The app comes from Enigma Labs and was developed to allow users to upload videos of odd sightings they capture in the sky.
Speaking with Axios, UFO researcher Alejandro Rojas shared that the West and Southwest are the hotbeds for strange activity. However, data from Enigma shows that people are spotting strange things in the sky across the country, like in Michigan, which has the ninth-highest total sightings.
The AI program designed by Enigma Labs’ app generates a score to help determine whether an upload captures something known, like a plane or satellite, or something truly unidentifiable.
Rojas noted that the app's purpose is to collect as much information as possible, as the efforts to destigmatize reporting UFOs and UAPs continue.
Regarding what’s been reported on the app, one video shared in late October appeared to show six lights traveling through the night sky together. Another from February showed someone driving toward a strange object on the highway.
The growing popularity of the app comes as Congress looks to shed more light on UFOs.
The House Oversight Committee is scheduled to have its UFO/UAP hearing on Wednesday, entitled, “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth,” with possible whistleblowers and significant information coming forward.
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) recently shared that the information expected to come forth from the hearing isn’t going to be “total disclosure,” but he still thinks “we’re gonna learn some things.”
