Former President Donald Trump has been asked about a recent set of photos that showed red marks on his hands and led to widespread speculation online about possible medical conditions.

The photos were taken on Jan. 17 while the former president was leaving Trump Tower for his defamation trial with writer E. Jean Carroll.

Online, many began wondering what the marks were, with some suggesting skin conditions, blood stains, paper cuts, and even just red markers.

However, Trump is dispelling the speculation, sharing with Fox News on Wednesday that it must have been AI.

When asked by a reporter for the outlet, Trump appeared confused and unaware of what he was talking about, with the two going back and forth about it. After explaining the photos and the theories, Trump quickly dismissed any worries.

“Nothing. Maybe it was AI,” Trump responded.

After the pictures drew chirps from Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show,” MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” and others, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung told with The Hill that the coverage was a waste of time.

“The media hysteria and ridiculous commentary from reporters and journalists just proves how unserious some news outlets have become,” Cheung told the outlet.
