In Glacier National Park, the bodies of two climbers who went missing on Sunday were found by search and rescue teams on Monday, according to the National Parks Service.

The two men, who have not been identified but were reportedly 67 years old, were from Columbia Falls and Kalispell, Montana, park officials shared in a press release.

The release stated that the two men had started their trip on July 21, with plans to climb Dusty Star Mountain and hike out on July 22.

However, when they did not return on Friday, they were reported missing on July 24. This led to park rangers searching for the pair and finding their vehicle on the trailhead the same day.

On Sunday morning, an air search and rescue team was dispatched to look for them on "potentially dangerous terrain," doing so until the end of the day. When searches began again on Monday, they were found in the morning.

"Park staff would like to express their deepest condolences to the families and ask that the public respect the families' privacy," the statement said.

The park shared in its statement that there is currently a plan in place to recover the bodies of the two men and their belongings.
