PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Pennsylvania could be employing the help of its National Guard to assist in distribution of the coronavirus vaccinations.

The state House of Representatives unanimously (202-0) to pass a bill that would allow the Nation Guard to work with the Department of Health and PEMA to develop a plan to set up vaccination sites across the state.

The bill is heading to the Senate for consideration and is in full support of Governor Tom Wolf.

The use of a state’s National Guard to aid the distribution of the vaccine is nothing new, as over 20 other states and territories have utilized this option.
