Governor Josh Shapiro joined a lawsuit with 22 other states and the District of Columbia Tuesday, after the Trump Administration canceled more than half a billion dollars in public health grants.

The governor says the funds are used for infectious disease prevention, immunizations along with mental health and substance abuse services.

Mr. Shapiro says the funding cut will prevent the state from renovating the Department of Health's laboratory.

The lawsuit is seeking a temporary restraining order.
