With that announcement from the White House, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf announced that the state is ready for the authorization of COVID vaccines for young children.

“In Pennsylvania, the vaccine is our strategy out of the pandemic, and Pennsylvanians are doing a tremendous job of protecting ourselves and our loved ones by getting the COVID-19 vaccine,” Gov. Wolf said in a release. “We should all be proud of how far we have come since the beginning of the pandemic as another milestone is upon us – the vaccine authorization for children ages 5-11.”

As of Oct. 20, adults over the age of 18 are vaccinated at a 70.8% across the state.

Pennsylvania is ranked sixth across the nation for at least first doses administered and is ready to continue pushing more to get vaccinated, including children.

“We are ready in Pennsylvania. Vaccine providers are prepared to safely vaccinate our children, and to protect them against this deadly virus.”
