PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) - The Pennsylvania State Troopers Association is expressing frustration after not being prioritized for a COVID-19 vaccination, but that isn't their only concern.

Dave Kennedy, president of the PSTA, said the Wolf Administration is following mandates from the federal government.

"It's always the same answer: 'We're going to get to you,'" Kennedy said. "Tell that to the trooper that's out on the road every single day that goes home and has an imunocompromised spouse, or child, or takes care of their elderly person, and your in fear everyday that your going to bring this horrible virus home."

16% of Pennsylvania's state troopers have contracted COVID-19.

Moreover, the PSTA is worried about another issue.

"We really need support. There's currently a bill that was just passed in the house of representatives that is stripping qualified immunity from police officers. If it passes the senate, they're going to change the face of policing forever, and not for the better," Kennedy said.
